It borrowed parts of the initiation ceremony from that group, with the same purpose:
Often we think of the image of a lone wolf white male who claims to be protecting his land and his right to own a gun. The all, in this case, meaning the Caucasian male. In being satisfied with this image of what a supremacist looks and acts like we are dangerously underestimating the reach of this type of racial hatred, which became evident during the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, North Carolina, and as some would argue, the election of Donald Trump.
If the circumstances surrounding the murder of Emmett Till are lost on you, you should google it now. Now before the hate mail rolls in, we should all agree that the actions of a few members of one race or gender should not be viewed as representative of all others who share that same race or gender, especially since they had no say in what race they were born into notwithstanding Rachel Dolezal.

During these early years, the role of women was limited to being used as symbols of racial and sexual supremacy for the KKK. Eventually, these same women would aid in constructing the robes and disguises for their husbands, boyfriends and other members of the KKK.
These outfits would be worn during violent protests and attacks against those who opposed them, primarily minority groups such as African Americans. By the s roughlywomen had joined the WKKK, many of which came from stable, middle-class communities.
They had headquarters in Little Rock, Arkansas and had delegates in every state. According to Kathleen M. Blee, author of Women of the Klanthe WKKK focused on the return of traditional family values, particularly the role of women, in an effort to restore and preserve white and Christian supremacy.
These women worked tirelessly to strengthen the organization and normalize the extreme actions of the KKK. They did this by successfully intimidating those who opposed them by organizing boycotts against anti-klan store owners, worked to get Catholic teachers fired, ran for school board seats and lobbied voters toward Klan member candidates while simultaneously supplying negative information on non-klan candidates.
They also held festivals, carnivals, lectures, food drives and somehow still found the time to burn crosses. If we want to create real change we must remember that no one can do so alone, we must do so collectively.
Until we stop being complicit as a society and choose to become as active and organized as groups such as the WKKK, it is unlikely that we will see the end of racism anytime soon. October 9th, by Katharine Densmore. The Ku Klux Klan is perhaps the most famous of all hate groups in America.
